The angle at which the wine is stored is equally as important. The cork will not dry out, when the wine stays in contact with it during storage. Light makes the wine age too quickly, so your storage area for it should be in a dark area of your house or building.
To keep the wine from damage because of sediment, you need to store it in a place where it will not be vibrated.
